part 2: challenges before us

Hi friends,

1 challenge of competition because of increase in population. There are more people josling for positions that have not expanded appreciably. If in the past an average ability could secure a place, now, far higher than average ability could secure the same place just narrowly. Admissions and employments are now to be secured with high performance level. in this circumsatnce, one cannot rely on the natural intelligence alone, he must go for artificial intelligence through self development.

2 Challenge of unpredictable future trends. Technology now moves at such a fast pace and in such unpredictable directions that it is difficult for people to make long term plans based on any reliable assumptions of future trends. Increasing information is becoming available to so many people around the world that it is almost impossible to make reasonable prediction as to where and when the next major discovery in any field of human activity will happen. Ability to quickly understand and adapt to changes as they unfold must be the priority of everybody especially youths. They must be equipped with state of the art skills and knowledge of development in various fields if they are to be relevant to their society. Ingenuity, resourcefulness and creativity must be the attributes of one who will face tomorrow with answers.

3 Challenges of career service giving way to contract employment. With this growing trend, a general increase of job mobility is likely to persist. This will imply that the fact that one is employed today does not make him/her stayed employed tomorrow. The challenge therefore is to constantly think ahead of circumstances and make yourself relevant to the job market.

4 Challenge of the spiritual aura influencing the market places. Many people are now tapping into the spiritual realm to obtain favour and secure favourable economic conditions. Prayer, sorcery, enchantment, sacrifice, ritual and other spiritual dimensions are now being freely used to secure favourable future and fortune in career choice and marriage relationship. One who is less competent but taps the spiritual realm may obtain a place more readily than one who is more competent but ignores the spiritual millieu.

5 Challenge of whom to marry and settle down to family life. Uncertainties and joblessness hinder youths from taking decisions on marriages and family matters. This phenomenon exposes a lot of people to temptations of getting sexual satisfaction outside the marriage setting. Some even go beyond that to seek children outside wedlock so that they will not have to take up serious responsibiltie, as the country is not giving the opportunities and empowerments to her youths, her future is being mortgaged.

Facing Tomorrow's challenges with answers (solutions) Part 1

Introduction
"It is possible for a man born ordinary to become a messiah by applying the messianic principles." - anonymous
"Tomorrow" here represents the future or days ahead of us beyond today. "Challenges" are the questions of meeting our needs and fulfilling our destinies. Destiny has to do with the purpose of existence. Man was created because he has a role to play in the universe in which he found himself. Anybody who looks to the future with the mind of seeking to satisfy his own appetite is likely to live a wasted life. Whoever loves money is never satified.
To prosper in life therefore, one must be motivated by values rather than just making money. The reason is simple: things that produce enduring prosperity do not yield quick monetary returns. Investment is like a seed. The longer the gestation period, the longer the fruit is likely to endure. If your intention is just to enjoy yourself in life then, this forum is not for you.
"Answers" in this forum simply refers to solutions. Every reasonable person, especially youths, must posess solutions to the challenges of life. We face more challenges today than our forefathers did, therefore, we must be equipped with more facts about life than they were. We must be prepared to work harder than they did, think more than they thought, venture more than they ventured and so on. (To be continued)
